MEETING NOTIFICATION
Our mission for Main Street is to preserve the history of Patterson and to make use of the downtown historic buildings in hopes of bringing commerce back to Main Street. One of the goals of our committee is to beautify Main Street by planting trees and landscaping designated areas. We envision providing a quaint and scenic place for visitors and residents of Patterson to shop and to enjoy the culture and beauty that surrounds the Lower Atchafalaya River.
Plans for the immediate future are to develop and expand downtown Morey Park and to provide adequate parking and seating, and a newly constructed river wharf providing access to the Lower Atchafalaya River. Other plans, to promote Patterson’s unique and diverse culture, are to sponsor occasions to provide live music in the park and to showcase local artists, encouraging a sense of community and fun. Families will love the access to barbeque pits and playground equipment for a relaxing day, while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors and access to the river.
Also, we are currently archiving the history of Patterson to educate its citizens on Patterson’s origin and the people and businesses that shaped us.
